Kit Dalton, of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, earned her BFA Degree from Tyler School of Art (Temple University)in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, majoring in Graphic Design and Illustration. After graduation she worked as a freelance designer and illustrator for private clients and in-house design studios.
She left the field of graphic design and marketing in 2005 and worked as a gallery director for several years. It was during this time that she decided to return to her original passion of oil painting, and devote herself to full time immersion in her own work.
Also in 2005, Kit designed and launched her website Bucks County Fine Arts Gallery, Inc. to include local Bucks County artists and serve as a place where they could be found under one cyber roof without having to be searched for by individual galleries or websites.
Kit is also a plein air painter- and sometimes uses the painting studies to do more detailed and larger studio versions. In her studio she works from her field sketches, memory and photographs. She is now known for her landscapes of Bucks County. Her largest and most sought after body of work includes images of the Delaware River and Towpath.
The most influential artists in her life have been Richard Schmid, Scott Christensen, Kevin McPherson and John F. Carlson. Kit also attends art workshops with renowned American painters- most recently having studied with modern master Hedi Moran; renowned for her floral still life works, Bob Rohm, Kenn Bacchaus and Dan Young; internationally renowned master American landscape painters.
Her paintings are in many private collections all across the USA, including a movie set for Screen Gems Productions “No Good Deed”.
